It’s been a while since I’ve posted here. After the NY gov snuck legislation into a covid bill raising the number of signatures required to get on the ballot that killed third parties in NY, I’ve been too black pilled to think much about how to reform government. But now that a growing number of people have likewise lost all hope in politicians, I will start posting again about the kind of voluntary government we would like to create once the collapse of the Epstein Class has happened.
We want to end the party system in US politics. Here’s an idea: Every candidate should have to gather the same number of petition signatures to get on the ballot (no more primaries, instead ranked choice voting in the general). No paid or out of state signature gatherers. And the candidates will only have their names written on the ballot, not any party affiliation.
Yeah, voters will have to learn something about the candidates, instead of voting blindly based on the candidate’s tribe affiliation.
While, people should be free to form any kind of associations they like, these associations should not be given special freedoms or special powers.
That won’t make representative democracy all that much better, but it’s one change among many we have to make.
Fundamentally, representatives need to have very little power. All the important decisions need to be made by individuals at the local level.
